This is a look at a university student union many years after abandonment. All done in photoshop, this project was a fun way to take an image of an ordinary location, and turn it into artwork that brings the imagination to life.

This is what an apocalypse looks like in Brookings, South Dakota...

Step One

Take original photo

Step Two

Mask off areas

Step Three

Add background environment, new sky, and large brush

Step Four

Introduce interesting elements (helicopter, person, flood)

Step Five

Add some addition plant growth to the ground

Step Six

Apply dirt and decay to surfaces

Step Seven

Layer on shadowing for growth that will be on the structures, and break some windows

Step Eight

Apply final layers of foliage to bring the environment to life
